Where Bloemendaal ends, the dunes of the National Park South Kennemerland start. A beautiful nature park, rich with lime and sand dunes, with dune forests and historic estates. The visitor center ´De Zandwaaier´ in Overveen guests an interactive exhibition on the flora and fauna of the area. There are several hiking and cycling routes plotted out and regularly tours, lectures and guided tours are provided. The Park is also the locatiuon of the Honour Cemetery, where many war victims are buried.

Trendy Bloemendaal beach

The dunes run into the North Sea Beach. The familyresort Zandvoort, just eight kilometers of Bloemendaal, is especially known for that beach. The pavilions at the nine kilometer long and 100 meters wide sandy beach are famous for the sheltered terraces. There is room for kite surfers. The Bloemendaal beach, known for its trendy pavilions and parties, is connected directly with that of Zandvoort. And, like Zandvoort, perfectly accessible from Bloemendaal by train, bus or bicycle. There are several beach clubs that are open all year round.

Casino and golf

From Hotel Bloemendaal it´s posible to visit many seasonal events and attractions. The world famous flower gardens of De Keukenhof, the circuit of Zandvoort and the Holland Casino in the same place, several golf courses and the picturesque village of Spaarndam with the statue of Hansje Brinker. Moreover, monument city Haarlem, rightly voted best shopping city in the Netherlands, lies within ten minutes. And other major cities, including Amsterdam, are fine and quickly accessible by road or train.
